Guilty Parties, Issue #41 -- The Oscars and throwing a surprise murder party
March 01, 2007
Hi - and welcome to issue #41 of Guilty Parties, the murder mystery party newsletter.

Is it March already? What's happened to 2007? I can't believe how time is flying by... Anyway, this month I have something on the Oscars, a mystery you can solve yourself and tips for throwing a surprise murder mystery party.

By the way, if you've enjoyed this newsletter or you've found www.great-murder-mystery-games.com useful and you have your own website, please support my site and put a link on your site... Thanks!

Fancy your chance at being a real detective?

Ever wanted to be a real detective?

In Jack Kain, the world's first murder mystery film / interactive on-line game, you may get the chance - and you may even win AUST$100,000!

Jack Kain is released on March 15, and to join in you need to buy the DVD, watch the film and then log onto the website for additional clues.

To win the AUST$100,000 you need to determine the killer and the motive. Easy!

You can pre-order the DVD now - click here to go to the Jack Kain website and learn more.

Surprise Parties

Throwing a surprise murder mystery party (for a friend or loved one) presents some unusual challenges - for example, what do you do about costuming or getting into character? And you run the risk of your guests wanting to socialise rather than play the game.

Anyway, following a recent query I realised I hadn't talked about it anywhere on my site, so I've added a short article on my site discussing some of the issues.

Did you enoy the Oscars?

Ah... the Oscars. The glamour, the excitement, the gowns, the movies - and of course the awards.

If you were inspired by the Oscars, then perhaps you'd like to host your own award ceremony.

In Hollywood Lies, along with solving the murder and dealing with all the other plots and twists and turns that Freeform Games are known for, you can also create your own little bit of movie magic.

During the game, there are producers who are looking to make new movies. And for that they have to sign up directors, stars and find a script. Then, at the end of the party, a scene from each movie is acted out - and everyone gets to vote for Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Movie!

It's your own award ceremony!
