We have had so much fun with the Freeform Games and plan to try more, but for the party we have coming up, one of the Dinner and a Murder Mystery Games seems to be more compatible with our group. What differences should I expect?
Which of these publishers provide games most like Freeform, or do they all basically have the freeform style?
My response:
I'm pleased that you enjoyed Death on the Gambia and Way out West - and I'd love to hear about it if you have a moment! (Here's a form...)
Neither Dinner and a Murder Mystery Games nor Murder Mystery Games Ltd use abilities in their games - so they don't have secrets and information in the same way.
They aren't generally plotted quite so heavily either - there isn't quite so much emphasis on goals other than solving the murder (although there are some sub-plots).
On the other hand, because they don't have abilities and the like, they are simpler to run than the Freeform Games murder parties.
I hope that helps!
