These games are very similar in format to the "How to Host a Murder"
games you have probably seen in the stores at Christmas. The games are
played around a dinner table during a three-course meal. There are four
rounds, one between each course.
(Please also note that these are different from the interactive games
elsewhere on this site, as I explain below.)
During each round, the guests learn a little bit more about
the plot (and themselves!) and enough clues are scattered through the game
to enable the murder mystery to be solved. Once all the rounds are complete
everyone guesses who they think "whodunnit" and the real solution is then
revealed.
These dinner party games are very easy to run - and are lots
of fun.
Another great thing about the games is that it's easy for
the person organising the party to play - they just have to make sure that
when they print the game out, they don't read the solution or the character
details.
If I had to criticise these games, it is that it's sometimes
a bit weird when you only find out that you're the murderer at the end of
the game. (You'd think that it would be something that you'd remember!)
Still, I've never let that come between me and having fun!
PS Due to the international nature of the Internet, some
of these games are in different currencies. To find out how much the games
are in your currency, you can use a
currency converter to
find out the approximate cost. (The final cost will depend on transaction
charges that your credit card will charge.)
Downloadable Dinner Party Murder Mystery Games
These dinner parties require Acrobat Reader - it’s free and
lets you read the "pdf" files, no matter what kind of computer you have. If
you’ve got an old version of Acrobat Reader, you might want to upgrade.
Click here to download Acrobat Reader. (Don't worry, I'll wait right
here while you do that.)
