Halloween Party with certain language barriers
I am thinking of buying All at Sea. Under these circumstances of some language barriers, is this a good choice?
Age range is 18 - 56 in the group, but the majority is on the older side.
Could we run two smaller murder mysteries in parallel: one all English oriented and the other all French? Like A Dead Man's Chest and Curse of the Pharaoh? Or is that simply way too confusing?
My response
Hi - I think running two games in parallel would be way too confusing. I've not tried it, and I don't think I'd want to!
However, All at Sea isn't a bad choice at all. Obviously the game is written in English, so you'll have to translate the bits for your French-speaking guests.
You'll also have to make sure that you cast it carefully - you need to make sure that the English/French-only speakers have an in-game friend who can translate for them when they need to.
Sounds like a great challenge let us know how it goes!
