I bought a game - now I am nervous

I bought a game for my 40th birthday party but have never attended or hosted a murder mystery game. I bought from Merri Mysteries (didn't find you until later). I read everything that came with the game but how do I make sure everyone will know what to do when I am a bit nervous.

Basically, how do I get the party started?

I think the first thing is - don't worry. The Merri Mysteries game contains all the information you need, so make sure that you read it through carefully.

I usually find that my parties tend to start with lots of mingling and chatting and meeting and greeting that has nothing to do with the murder. So once everyone (or almost everyone) has arrived, I then get everyone's attention and start proceedings. (The exact start depends on the game - many of them are different.)

Once things have started, you should find that the game then ticks along nicely.
