Murder at the four deuces

by MT

First I want to say thank you for all the information on your site. I had no idea how stressful picking the right Murder Mystery could be on a person. With that aside I think i have settled on Murder at the Four Deuces. I will have ten people (including the host) for a surprise 30th Birthday.

My question is that we were planing on having small bites while standing (with wine of course) and then moving into a sit down coursed dinner. Do you think this Mystery will still work? Any suggestions on making it go smoothly?

I've read most of your links and understand this mystery is best designed for standing buffet style mingling but any help you could give would be great.

One more thing just to make sure I understood correctly. The host can play along in this version, right? Without knowing who the murderer is?

Thanks again

MT

My response:

I'll answer the last question first - yes, the host can play without knowing who the murderer is, although they have to be careful not to read too much when they're preparing the game.

As for a sit-down dinner, I recommend leaving plenty of time for mingling and chatting between the courses - but other than that it should work fine!

Have a great party!

The Murderer is...
by: Steve (GMMG)

Karl,

The murderer is always the same character. So, if you are hosting it you can either choose not to read everything (in which case you will randomly assign the murderer to one of your guests).

Or, if you read through everything you will know who the murderer is and decide which person to give that character to.

I hope that helps.

First time for me.
by: Karl

Hello.

Will probably try this game as my first. One question that comes in too mind;
*Is there a way too figure out how is the murderer or is the murderer randomly chosen in advance?

I like the idea of being able too figure the murderer out if you "play your cards right"...

Can anyone figure out the quest or just some persons?
