Problem with amount of people - Final Curtain

I'm doing The Final Curtain and a couple people have dropped out. I have all the needed characters and Brian Booth and Errol Blackstone are also attending. My problem is that after all those characters have been taken I have only one more guest and since the rest of the characters have to be used all together or can't be used at all, I have a dilemma. I was wondering if it was absolutely necessary for the characters that have to be grouped together, have to be used together or is it possible if I can just pick one character from the group to use without murder mystery chaos happening. I hope you understand my question. And your advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Rebecca. Ideally, with 10 players (including you) you would use the core 7 characters, plus either:

- Sandy, Pip and Errol, or
- Sandy, Pip and Brian, or
- Bert, Spangles and Madge. (In fact, I think that's what we did when I hosted it.)

However, if you want to use Errol and Brian - then you have a bit of a dilemma.

You won't have a complete murder mystery disaster, but that last player will feel a little isolated as their main plots feature characters that aren't present. They might not enjoy the party as much as the others.

Personally, I would explain to either Errol or Brian that, because you've had some late cancellations, you've got to change the casting and therefore would they mind playing a different character instead. And then use Pip, Sandy and either Errol or Brian.
