Purchase Gone Bad




I purchased Casino Fatale from you. I tried to establish the guest list so I knew the correct game before purchasing but now people are backing out or not able to commit. Now, I do not have enough players for the game. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to send me a different game for less players, possibly something for 14+ guests, whichever game you recommend.

While I'm sure you clicked through from my site, I'm afraid you bought Casino Fatale from the publishers, Freeform Games. I say that as only they can give a refund or exchange - I'm afraid I can't do that.

The good news is that Freeform Games do have a cast-iron guarantee (unlike some other online publishers) so exchanging shouldn't be a problem.

Simply go to their site and contact them direct (or use the details in the game files).

You do need to provide details of the purchase, however - such as the reference number and the email address you used to make the purchase.

You have to weigh the general trustworthiness of your customers against the potential selling point of having a guarantee.

From a personal point of view, there are lots of downloadable products out there with guarantees, and as a customer I have more questions about the quality of the product if it doesn't come with a guarantee.

Although I am fairly new to selling downloadable murder mystery games, I am always a bit wary of people asking for an exchange or refund which is why I as a seller dont actively offer it. When someone purchases a downloadable game, they can save it and make copies to their computer so when they ask for an exchange or refund, they still get to keep the copy they have made and in affect get a free game.

I do not wish to insult any honest customers out there but it is just something that always concerns me. If anyone has any good ideas on ways around this problem, I would love to hear them.
