Lei'd to Rest Murder Mystery Game

by Kim
(Arizona, USA)

This will be my first time hosting a murder mystery party, and I am just having a few friends over, 5 guests and me (the host) for a total of 6 people.

I was wondering if Lei'd to Rest can be played with this many people?

My response:

It probably can be done, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it as mixing host and player duties is never easy. I have written about it elsewhere on my site here - click here to read Playing and hosting a murder mystery game.

Lei'd to Rest says 6-12, but lists 13 people

I have 7 people and I would like to buy Lei'd to Rest. The game shows 13 people, but I only have 7. Who/how can I cut 6 people?

My response:

Don't worry - you can play Lei'd to Rest with 7 people (6 players and a host).

The game is for 6 core characters which you absolutely must use, and the rest are optional.

As for the mystery of the 13th character - well, one of them is the bus driver, who is also the host.

Question about number of guests for Lei'd to Rest

(Janet)

We are trying to host a murder mystery dinner party with a Hawaiian theme and came across Lei'd to Rest. Here's our dilemma ... the host will be a female and then there will be 3 men and 6 women attending. (total of 10 including the host).

Is Lei'd to Rest conducive for the male/female guests we will have?

My response:

With 9 players Lei'd to Rest has four male characters, three female characters and two that can be played by men or women.

So that either means that you need to find a different game, or you find another male player, or (most likely) you get one of your female guests to pretend to be a man for the evening.

I've written about playing the opposite sex here on my site.
