Tax exempt?

by Kate

I'm looking into buying one of the games for a program I'm putting on at my university. I work for housing and dining services, and I put on involvement activities for students in resident halls. I can only purchase material from places that are tax exempt, so I was wondering if this website was tax exempt. Please let me know at your earliest convenience!

My response:

I'm not actually sure what you mean by "tax exempt". Which tax do you mean?

Either way, I'm not sure it matters because if you "buy" a game through my site, you're taken through to the publisher's website and you purchase the game from them.

(For sending you to them, I earn a small commission on the sale.)

So tax exemption status will depend on the publisher. Depending on which tax you're talking about, they may or may not be exempt.

Sorry that's not a lot of use - if you can clarify what you mean by "tax exempt" (reply in the comments) then I'll try to give you a better answer.

No tax charged for Casino Fatale NEW
by: Steve (GMMG)

Hi - thanks for the clarification.

I can confirm that Freeform Games don't charge any tax on their games.

(They're based in the UK, so if they did charge tax (and their turnover is below the threshold for charging tax) it would be VAT, the EU equivalent of sales tax, that they would charge.)

I hope that helps!

tax exempt NEW
by: Anonymous

Because I work for a university, I have paperwork for getting a tax exemption. Do the publishers of Casino Fatale charge a tax on the product, and if so, are they willing to exempt me from paying it because I am from a university?
Does that help clarify?
