The Auction

I found 'The Auction' on your website and really liked what I read. I was planning on doing the dinner for my husband's 40th birthday party. I clicked on it to purchase the game and was sent to a completely different website. I went ahead and purchased the game expecting to receive an email with the password to download it and never received the email. I sent you an email and your response was that I needed to contact the other company directly which I did. In fact, I emailed them 3 TIMES, I called them ONCE and I faxed them TWICE. I never received a response nor have I received the game but I can assure you that they have almost $50.00 of my money!!!! I understand that you can do nothing about it but you are referring innocent customers to murdermysterygames.net and they are stealing people's money. That game was supposed to be my husbands present and now I have nothing to give him because I don't have the money. I feel taken advantage of and robbed, not to mention horrible because now I have nothing to give my husband for his birthday. I do not hold you completely responsible for what happened, but you do advertise their game. Had I not tried to order from YOUR website, I would not be in the situation I'm in right now.

My response:

I'm very sorry that you haven't received the game yet, and the accusations you make are very serious.

I have just been in contact with Dixon at Murder Mystery Games Ltd (who I have always found to be very honest) who is puzzled at your email as he doesn't recall an email or a fax.

He has provided me with a another way of contacting him. So please email him at (email address removed to prevent spam) with as much detail as you can - the email address you used to buy the game, the date of purchase and any other details you have.

He will either provide you with the game, or arrange a full refund.

Hopefully we can sort this out quickly

Phew!
by: Steve

Sherri - I'm glad it's sorted.

You're right, it is annoying when you pay for something and don't receive it. I'm glad it's now all clear.

I hope the Auction goes well when you eventually run it - and I hope you'll tell us all about it on the "Your Stories" page!

Cheers,

steve

The Auction Issue
by: Sherri

Steve,
I received your response and am grateful for your help. I did receive an email yesterday from Dixon and my response to him is listed below.

Thanks again!!
Sherri

Hi Dixon,

What Steve has told you is correct. I originally purchased the game on 10/24/08 for my husband's birthday. I received a message stating that my payment was pending but nothing else. I sent my first email that day at 4:23 pm asking what that message meant but never received a response. On 10/27/08, the payment for $48.95 cleared my account and I expected to receive an email with the password but I never did. I sent another email on 11/03/08 at 6:10 pm to the same address that I sent my original email (the one listed on your website) which was info@murdermystergames.net. Again, no response. My third email was sent the same time I sent the fax AND left a voice message, again, based on the # listed on the website which was 208.361.8486. I am not at home at the moment, but if you would like to me to send you a copy the confirmation of the fax, I would be more than happy to do so.

I apologize for my anger, but I honestly tried to rectifiy this problem on more than one occasion AND using different resources. I hope you understand my frustrations. I still want the game even though it will not be done in time for my husband's birthday which is 11/24. I don't have a problem with you guys keeping my money because I believe in paying for things I get. What upset me was that I paid for it and never got it.

Please send me the password I as I still have not received it. If you could also send it to xxx@xxxx.net and xxxx@xxxx.com as well as this email address, I would greatly appreciate it. I want to make sure I get it at one of my addresses!

Thanks for your time and attention~
Sherri

An apology from Murder Mystery Games Ltd
by: Steve

Sherri,

Shortly after posting this, you should have had an email from Dixon at Murder Mystery Games apologising for the problem. In return for your inconvenience, he's given you a full refund AND provided you with the game passwords.

I hope that's not too late for you - and if it is perhaps you can hold the party at a later date.
