which game to choose

Thank you for your website! Love it! So informative. I have a quick question. We're trying to host a game but don't know which to choose from. We've hosted one previously that game with a tape and booklets for each character.. we did it over a four course meal (which I liked). With each course came more revelations about characters.. but to tell you the truth it was a bit dry and awkward with our guests.

The games on your site seem very interesting and different. Could you suggest a game for 14-20 people? I'm automatically drawn to a few and would like to know your thoughts. A Killer Reunion sounds appropriate since the majority of us in our group go to church together and we're all couples. But you have a lot of reviews on Death on a Gambia and it sounds more descriptive but it's more limited in terms of how many people. Can you give me the best suggestion on which game is your favorite (even outside of these two).

My response:

Thanks for the kind words about my site!

For a church group, I suggest that you have a look at the "good clean fun" games. (They have some of the more dubious aspects removed.)

Of the list, I think I prefer Hollywood Lies or Murder at the Four Deuces to A Killer Reunion, but that's probably because the theme for A Killer Reunion doesn't really work for me.

So I suggest you have a look at the games and pick one where the theme will suit your guests. (Make sure you choose a game that has the right number of characters. Adding characters to a game is hard work and a chore - it's much better to get it right in the first place!)
