Hi there, I would like to hold an all-female party in tipi (with fairy lights and fire etc). Do you have any parties that might adapt well to that setting?
Also I will end up being the host - does that mean I know who the murderer is and have a lot of organising to do? Or is it still easy for me to play?
I will have between 6 and 12 players - numbers are still being decided.
Thanks so much!
My response:
An all-female party in a tipi! Crikey!
First, yes if you are hosting you will know who the murderer is, particularly if you are playing a game by Freeform Games (most of the games on this site). That's because the host has a slightly different role - they're the facilitator, organiser and referee.
It's possible to play and host - and I've written a short article about that here.
I assume that you want an all-female, game rather then have players play members of the opposite sex (which you can do if you want - I've written about that as well!).
For a female-only party, you are a bit stuck, however. I've written a page on all-female murder mysteries, but there aren't too many that I'm aware of.
If you're happy for some guests to play male characters, then I suggest you look at this page which lists games which cater for a small number of guests.
I hope that helps.
If you have any further questions I'd be happy to answer them in the comments below.
Here's my suggested quick route through the site:
Step 1 - Go to Choosing a Game to choose the game that suits your party best.
Step 2 - Review the Tips for Hosts for helpful advice.
Step 3 - If you want to keep up to date with the latest murder mystery game news, click on my What's New page.
Step 4 - Once you've had your party - tell me how it went! Click here to tell me your murder mystery party story.
