Dazzled to Death - gender swap possibilities?

I'm looking for a murder mystery game for 14 people (including the host) to be played in my house, and Dazzled to Death looks the best fit so far...

This will be the second interactive murder mystery event we've held, so the majority of the guests will know roughly what to expect, and will be keen to get into character etc.

I just wondered how flexible the characters are? There are 5 men (including the host) and 9 women coming to our party. A couple of the women don't mind dressing as men, but I was wondering if we could just turn some of the male characters into women?

I appreciate that this might lead to some same-sex liaisons, but that's fine! Also, how rigid are the age ranges? We're all in our 30s, and people won't mind playing younger characters, but I'm wondering who I can put in the old lady roles... Any info you can give will be gratefully received (but obviously don't give the game away as I'm making my partner host so that I can play!). Thanks.

My response:

With 14 players, there are 6 male roles, 6 female roles and two gender neutral in Dazzled to Death. So you would only need to have one male character played by a woman.

If you want to change the sex of the characters you can - the best thing to do is ask Freeform Games for a copy of the Word files so that you can make the changes yourself.

As you've worked out, Dazzled to Death has a range of ages for the roles. I am not sure what I can tell you to help you decide who is best for the older roles - I think you can only really tell that by reading the characters and knowing your friends.

I hope that helps.
