Adding characters to A Dead Man's Chest

Can we add characters to A Dead Man's Chest? We are looking more for 25-30 people.

My response:

Although A Dead Man's Chest is written for 12-16 people (plus a host), you can play it with more people quite easily.

Freeform Games (the publishers) encourage their customers to create their own characters for their games - and A Dead Man's Chest has more than any.

There are 12 extra characters written by customers, although two of them are duplicates, so there are only 10 extra characters.

Freeform Games don't normally recommend using them all - they haven't playtested A Dead Man's Chest with all the free extra characters added, so they don't know how weird that would be. But if you're prepared to try it out, I'd love to hear about it.

You can also create your own characters - I've written about that here: Writing extra characters for murder mystery games.

Don't know where to start?

Here's my suggested quick route through the site:

Step 1 - Go to Choosing a Game to choose the game that suits your party best.

Step 2 - Review the Tips for Hosts for helpful advice.
