A Purrfect Murder is an interactive murder mystery game set at a cat-fancy show for 9-12 guests (plus one host) published by Freeform Games.

The story

It is the final of the Purrfect Paws Pageant, a cat-fancy competition boasting a $1,000,000 prize! The feline contestants, their owners and the judges arrived at the Catford Hotel and Exhibition Center yesterday evening.

Unfortunately, Lady Catherine “Kitty” Percival, the extremely wealthy owner of competition frontrunner Baba Ganoush III, was found dead in her hotel room earlier this morning. The judges and contestants have been detained in the exhibition center pending a police investigation. The hotel is cordoned off by the police, preventing the public from attending.

However, the show must go on! The contestants and judges are gathered in the exhibition hall to mingle, crown the pinnacle of feline grace and beauty and, perhaps, find the killer of Lady Percival.

Was it murder? Of course it was...

how A PURRFECT MURDER works

A Purrfect Murder is an interactive murder mystery game, so all the players receive complete details of their character, including a detailed backstory, objectives that they must try to achieve, and information about other characters.

Characters also have item cards (that represent cats, cat food, cat training packs, cat makeup, and so on), and abilities (that let them detect secrets find out information about other people).

In my opinion, once you've played an interactive murder mystery game, you won't want to go back.

While A Purrfect Murder has a murder (poor Lady Percival...), the game is full of other plots - such as who will win the Purrfect Paws Pageant?

Instead of a formal dinner party, A Purrfect Murder is better suited to a buffet meal or finger food.

Everyone needs to be able to talk quietly with each other - to plot and scheme and achieve their goals.

A Purrfect Murder also needs a dedicated host, someone to organise the game.

They will read the entire game and will be available to answer questions.

I really enjoy being the host - you know what's going on and can watch your friends scheme and plot and be devious to one another.
