Recommended game for 15/16 murder mystery virgins who are likely to get drunk!?

As people have said, the site is really great thank you for all the information you have provided! I have been trying to decide on the right game for 2 weeks now, I know most of the games from reading them over and over but I still cant decide.

Could you to tell me which game you would recommend for 15/16 people who do have a tendency to enjoy their drink?

I'm worried the idea of the scavenger hunt for the "weapons" and random people having them will be too complicated for these guests and allow them to get too silly. Could you do it that only the original murderer has "weapons" and the freedom to "kill" if its their only option?

All advice is appreciated, I'm new to interactive games.

My response:

Thanks for the kind words about my site!

All of the games are suitable for new players and hosts of murder mystery games - they all contain detailed instructions so that you know what to do.

However, some are a little easier than others. In your case, and assuming that you don't want a game with weapons in it, then I suggest Dazzled to Death (which although it states is for 12-15 players also has some free extra characters that can be used), The Auction, or Murder at the Four Deuces.

On drinking, personally I'm all for having a drink during a game as I find it loosens inhibitions a bit. But you may need to be wary about anyone drinking too much to the point that they no longer want to play the murder mystery and spoil it for others.

Don't know where to start?

Here's my suggested quick route through the site:

Step 1 - Go to Choosing a Game to choose the game that suits your party best.

Step 2 - Review the Tips for Hosts for helpful advice.
