Is it possible for someone to play John before he dies and then continue the game as Chris Harper?

My response:

Chris is the original name of the Chalet Host (and the host of the game). In a recent update, Freeform Games removed the name of the host and just made the host of the game "the host". (And I realise I hadn't updated my game page - so I've done that now.)

John, on the other hand, is found dead at the beginning of the game.

Yes, you can absolutely start the game by playing John (before he dies) and then continue as Chris, the host.

However, you might want to think about how you structure the character information. The characters are all written with John dead at the start of the game, so you may need to ask for editable files when you buy the game so you can make appropriate changes.
